On the evening of April 28, 2012, the Puppet Co., located in Glen Echo Park, presents its sixth Playhouse Puppetry Slam!, the only puppet slam in the D.C. metropolitan area. Puppeteers come from all over the East Coast to get down and dirty with the Nation’s capital, including Basil Twist and Carole D’Agostino. Will YOU be there?
The Playhouse Puppetry Slam! is a showcase of edgy and provocative works aimed at mature audiences. Content ranges from the raunchy and risqué to the tender and tear-jerking in a fast-moving succession of both rough and polished acts. Audiences enjoy a variety of types of puppetry, ranging from humanettes and tabletop puppetry, to hand puppets and marionettes, and even toy theatre and shadow puppetry.
