Sunday Blues and Swing Dance

Join us for Blues and Swing Dancing in the Back Room at Glen Echo Park on Sunday, May 29, 2011 from 8:30 to 11 p.m. featuring Jamie Lynch Band.  Jamie Lynch turns heads with her strong and soulful voice. Although classically trained, she was influenced by Big Mama, Etta James, and Susan Tedeschi, among others, and couldn't stay away from blues, R&B, and gospel music.

For dancers who want to learn more about slow blues dancing, Mike Marcotte and Donna Barker offer a blues lesson from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This optional, 1-1/2 hour workshop offers footwork, moves and lead/follow techniques for dancing to slow, blues tunes. No partner required.

Admission for the workshop and dance is $17 (7 – 11 pm); or $12 for the dance only (8:30 – 11 pm).  Doors open for "dance only" at 8:15 pm.
