Where/When: (5417 W Cedar Lane, Bethesda Friday); Friday Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: This annual event supports Hope Connections for Cancer Support, a Bethesda-based organization that provides free programs of emotional support, education, wellness and hope. The headliner act is the Johnny Esquire Band, playing some of your favorite classic rock songs.

Where/When: (10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda); Saturday, Oct. 29, 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Why Go: UMBC’s Visual Art professor Chris Peregoy will lead this course for children ages 10 and older and teach them how to make a pinhole camera using everyday objects. Kids ages 10-13 must be accompanied by an adult. Tuition is for children, unless the accompanying adult would like to make a camera.

Price: $90

 

Where/When: (2000 Shorefield Road, Wheaton); Saturday, Oct. 29 and Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

Why Go: This local tradition offers a fun, safe and SCARY Halloween time at Wheaton Regional Park. The train, carousel and Hall of Jack o’ Lanterns are sure to delight your boo-ys and ghouls aged 8 and older!

Price: $6 for the train; $5 for the carousel with a canned food donation for the Mid-County United Ministries of Wheaton.

 

Where/When: Cabin John Regional Park (7400 Tuckerman Lane, Rockville); Saturday, Oct. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 30, at 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Why Go: A great choice for the younger trick-or-treaters, this local favorite offers scare-free fun through an “Eye Spy” game, face-painting and outdoor movies. On Sunday, bring the family dog to ride along!

Price: $6 per person, $5 with a canned food donation for the Manna Food Center.

 

Where/When: (7300 Macarthur Boulevard, Glen Echo); Saturday, Oct. 29, 1 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the season with pumpkin decorating, trick-or-treating and a costume parade around the park.
