Brickside Food & Drink to Open Jan. 21

Prohibition-style American restaurant is planned for Cordell Avenue in the space formerly occupied by Bubby's Deli.

Brickside Food & Drink, an American restaurant and bar planned for the former Bubby's Deli space at 4866 Cordell Avenue, is set to open later this month.

The 85-seat restaurant will make its debut Jan. 21, Jeff Burton, Bethesda Urban Partnership deputy executive director, said at a Woodmont Triangle Action Group meeting Friday morning.

The kitchen at Brickside will be headed up by Andrew Pace, chef and co-owner of Villa Mozart in Fairfax, The Washington Post reported. Brian Vasile, co-owner of Adams Morgan's Grand Central, will serve as general manager, according to the report.

Pace told the Post the restaurant will have a "Prohibition" feel, complete with black garage doors, brick walls and dark leather booths.

Brickside will serve up starters including polenta fries with blue cheese dip and main courses ranging from baby back ribs and catch of the day to pizza, The Post reported.
