Bubby's Will Be Back, Closed to Build Bar

The deli was approved for a liquor license on July 7.

Don’t write off just yet. Despite Bethesda Magazine reporting that the deli has a closed sign on its door and its phone disconnected, the store is not closed for good.

The deli was approved for a liquor license on July 7, according to Erin Momyer of the Montgomery County Board of License Commissioners.

Jeff Manas, owner of the deli, confirmed that the store was approved for the license and is only closed for renovations.

Manas said that the deli, which opened in February, will have a bar when it reopens.

“We’ll be doing a lot of renovations,” Manas said.

He plans to reopen the deli sometime after Labor Day.
