Cabin John CalTort Re-Opens on Valentine's Day with New Look

After an extensive re-model, Potomac's California Tortilla is boasting a modernized interior.

Nothing says love like burritos. And just in time for Valentine's Day, the California Tortilla in the Cabin John Shopping Center is re-opening with a brand-new look.

The Potomac location has undergone an extensive re-model to upgrade the shop's interior. The "Cal-Mex" eatery now boasts a new color palette to match the cool green tones of CalTort's new logo.

The re-design comes on the heels of the move and re-model of downtown Bethesda' California Tortilla, which re-opened with the updated look on Cordell Avenue last fall. The chain is in the process of a re-branding effort, and the new look is planned for all of the chain's locations, owner Pam Felix told Patch last year.

The Cabin John location has been outfitted with new seating and new furniture, according to a news release.

In Bethesda, the new location features booths, beer, wifi, and the toned-down color palette. The chain’s reds and oranges have given way to more green to represent freshness and CalTort’s signature guacamole, Felix said.

“I loved the old colors, but I thought it was just time for a change after 17 years,” Felix said.

The fare hansn't changed, however—menu favorites like burritos, quesadillas and salads are still being served up.

The Cabin John location was set to re-open Thursday.

The idea for the dessert, available on Valentine's Day, was submitted by a loyal patron during a Facebook contest that garnered more than 400 entries.

Happy tweeting, happy eating and happy Valentine's Day!
