A developer who specializes in multi-family housing projects has purchased a Port Covington property that includes a Walmart and shuttered Sam's Club, according to the Baltimore Business Journal.

Marc Weller, a developer based in Chevy Chase and formerly involved with Ellisdale Construction and Development, is listed on Maryland land records as the buyer of the 58-acre site, the Business Journal says.

Last year Weller and a former partner were involved in the redevelopment of United Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and a multifamily and retail site in the Fort Totten neighborhood, the Journal reports.
