The club underwent a $6 million renovation by the Bozutto group in 2007. To that, operators added a two-level, 1,800-square-foot kitchen and a 35-foot bar that will serve beer, wine and cocktails. The theater seating was replaced with two tiered levels of table seating for 300 and 200 theater seats to the rear of the space, Bethesda Patch added.

The menu features Creole and American cuisine, and will include coconut shrimp, crab cakes and hush puppies. Dinner will be “quick serve, fine dining” before the show in order to keep the dinner service from interfering with the show, operators said.

Three sides:

A new chef recently took the reigns at the popular downtown Silver Spring eatery 8407 Kitchen Bar, The Washington Post reported. Former executive chef Pedro Matamoros, best known for his lamb Bolognese and house-made charcuterie, was fired last November.

New chef Ed Witt, 39, worked in kitchens from New York to San Francisco before settling in the DC area three years ago, The Post reported.

Busboys and Poets is headed to Takoma, Takoma Park Patch reported.

"The popular Washington, DC-based eatery just leased 6,500 square feet in Takoma Central, a mixed-use development at the corner of Carroll and Maple [on the DC side of the DC-Takoma Park border], according to a release from Federal Capital Partners and Level 2 Development, the developers of the $36 million rental-retail-restaurant combo," Takoma Park Patch stated.

This will be the company's fifth Busboys location. It's set to open in the spring of 2014, The Washington Post's "Capital Business Blog" reported

In Friendship Heights, Chevy Chase, Tex-Mex restaurant Mi Cocina is slated to open later this spring in the former M Cafe space (5471-5481 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase, MD) of The Collection at Chevy Chase. The storefront in the upscale shopping block (Dior will be the restaurant's neighbor) has been vacant for nearly two years, Chevy Chase Patch reported.

Dessert:

New signage installed at the former Moon Gate Restaurant and Bar on the Bethesda-Chevy Chase border (at 4613 Willow Ln.) announces the official changeover of Moon Gate to the House of Foong Lin, Bethesda Magazine reported.

Moon Gate became the House of Foong Lin in January. House of Foong Lin owner Fu Cheung formerly owned Foong Lin in Bethesda, which closed last summer in advance of Woodmont Triangle redevelopment, Bethesda Patch reported.
