Dessert:

New candy shop Sugar & Ice opened Friday, June 7, in Chevy Chase, filling one of the long-vacant storefronts on Friendship Heights' Wisconsin Circle with bright color and sweet treats. This modern take on the classic candy shop sells candies, chocolates, snow cones, Moon Pies and more, with gelato coming soon, Bethesda-Chevy Chase Patch reported.

Coming soon:

Popular Baltimore deli ("98 years in the making") Attman's Delicatessen—whose second location originally was slated to open in Potomac's Cabin John Shopping Center this spring—may open this month, or perhaps later, Bethesda Magazine reported.

When Potomac Patch stopped by the storefront on Wednesday, the interior appeared to be shaping up nicely, with work crews building a serving area and other features.

Kids eat free:

Just across the border into Washington, DC, Rosa Mexicano in Chevy Chase (5225 Wisconsin Ave. NW) recently launched a "Kids Eat Free" dinner, available Sunday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m.

The offer is valid only at Rosa Mexicano's Chevy Chase location. Children 10 years old and younger get a complimentary meal with the purchase of any adult entrée, according to the restaurant.

For their entrée, kids may choose to order a quesadilla (chicken, cheese or steak), Mexican pizza or chicken fingers, all of which are served with sweet potato fries, mixed vegetables, churros and milk or a juice box.
