Honest Tea's "Honesty" Experiment Returns This Week

Would you leave a dollar in a jar for a bottle of tea?

Bethesda-based Honest Tea, known for its innovative marketing techniques, is taking to the streets of major cities once again this week to test out just how “honest” residents are.

The organic tea company is setting up kiosks full of drinks in 30 cities across the country, including Washington, DC, NBC Washington reports. There’s just one catch—the drink stands are unmanned and marked with signage asking passersby to leave a dollar in a jar in exchange for their tea.

So, who will pay and who will grab and go? The outcomes have proven in the past to be interesting social experiments.
