Luke's Lobster To Open Thursday On Bethesda Lane

Seafood restaurant Luke’s Lobster is set to debut on Bethesda Row Thursday, restaurant reps tell Patch.

The restaurant chain, owned by Georgetown University grad and Maine native Luke Holden, 27, already boasts four shops in New York City and another in the Penn Quarter in downtown Washington, D.C. Bethesda friends of Holden's and patrons of the downtown eatery clamored for the Bethesda location,

The restaurant will combine “the stylishness of Bethesda Row with the down home feel of the Maine Coast,” according to a press release, with design elements including driftwood and buoys from Holden’s Maine lobster boat.

It’s set to take over the space at 7129 Bethesda Lane formerly occupied by Cacao, across the pedestrian byway from

Patch was able to snag a sneak preview of the eatery’s June menu. Luke’s will be serving up Maine favorites including lobster rolls, crab rolls, shrimp rolls, and of course, clam chowder.

The seafood rolls are “served chilled atop a buttered and toasted New England-style, split-top bun with a swipe of mayo, a sprinkle of lemon butter and a dash of our secret spices,” according to the menu.
