New Salon Offers Suite Spaces to Stylists

Symmetry Salon Studios—which rents out styling stations and suites to individual stylists—celebrated its grand opening in Bethesda on Thursday, July 25.

With the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of Symmetry Salon Studios at 4908 Hampden Ln., Bethesda, local hairstylists now have a unique way to start their own salons.

The studio has one reception desk and waiting area, and rents out styling stations and suites to stylists, who offer and price their own services, Nancie Ruder, marketing director for Symmetry Salon Studios, told Patch.

The salon has been open for a couple of months already, but the finishing touches were only just completed this week. The building used to house dance and martial arts studios, and was gutted and renovated to accommodate the individual styling suites.

The idea of offering suite space to stylists to set up their own businesses is new to the area, but is not a new concept in the industry, Ruder said.

Ruder hopes to open other locations in the area to offer the start-your-own-business model to more local stylists.
