Potomac Pilates Opens in Friendship Heights

The studio opened last month above the Whole Foods store.

The wait is over: Potomac Pilates opened on March 1 at The Shops at Wisconsin Place in Friendship Heights, just above the Whole Foods store.

"With diversified classes for men and women of all fitness levels, Potomac Pilates presents programs of 'Performance Pilates' and 'Barre classes,' plus fashion workout apparel," the studio reported in a news release.

Classes are scheduled throughout the day, some starting as early as 6:15 a.m., and some beginning as late as 7:15 p.m. Between 1 and 4 p.m. are the "Happy Hour" classes, which cost half as much as non-Happy Hour classes.

And, this week, Potomac Pilates is offering "Pilates for Paws" classes at select times to help raise money for the Washington Humane Society. Registration is free for those classes, with a suggested donation of $20 per participant.

Potomac Pilates' "Performance Pilates" classes "are conducted on the Allegro and Allegro II reformers, which add resistance to a Pilates workout without adding bulk," according to a studio statement.

Potomac Pilates launched in Potomac, MD, in 2006, and this new location at The Shops at Wisconsin Place is part of its founder’s goal to expand in the DC area over the next few years.

Potomac Pilates recently received a “Best of Bethesda” rating by the readers of Bethesda Magazine, the studio's statement reported.
