Tanger Outlet Mall to Open at National Harbor Ahead of Black Friday Rush

The outlet mall, which some area residents are fighting in court, will open Nov. 22 at National Harbor.

National Harbor's new Tanger Outlets are set to open Friday, Nov. 22, with grand opening events throughout the weekend, including a ribbon cutting, holiday fashion package giveaways, and a holiday music and fireworks show, reportsNBCWashington.com.

The 340,000-square-foot outdoor mall will feature more than 85 designer outlet stores, such as Coach and Ralph Lauren, and will bring in about 900 new jobs, the TV station said.

Fort Washington and Oxon Hill residents filed lawsuits to stop the construction, NBC reported, but a judge in Prince George's County Circuit Court ruled in favor of the Tanger Outlets. He said that halting the project would have a negative economic impact on the county. The residents have appealed.
