Einstein POM's Win Division III Competition. Share 1st Place Captains Award

Einstein, Gaithersburg and B-CC excel in the MCPS competition at Richard Montgomery High School.

Montgomery County held their POM Competition Saturday, February 2nd in front of a packed house at the Richard Montgomery High School gymnasium.

Nine schools which included Einstein, Springbrook, Montgomery Blair, Bethesda Chevy Chase (BCC), Wheaton, Watkins Mill, Northwood, Kennedy and Gaithersburg High Schools competed for the illustrious 1st, 2nd and 3rd place team trophy's.  In addition teams competed for Spirit Award, which is equally determined by the fans enthusiasm, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Captain's Award.

If dynasty's can exist in POM's, Einstein might be building a case.  For the 2nd straight year Einstein and Gaithersburg High School's finished 1st and 2nd respectively.  Einstein also shared a tie for the 1st place Captains Award with Watkins Mill High School.  In addition to 2nd place Gaithersburg took home the Spirit Award.  BCC finished in 3rd place for the team award as well as Captains Award.  Montgomery Blair received the 2nd place Captains Award.

Determination of squad winners is based on points awarded for choreography, technical - POM, technical - dance, group execution and overall presentation.  Captains Award is based on dance ability, marching techniques, personality and leadership.
