Central Farm Markets is hosting an Oyster Tasting complete with shucking demos with the acclaimed Eastern Shore company Chesapeake Gold Oysters. Chesapeake Gold Oysters, a leader in Aquaculture, works closely with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Maryland Department of Environment to insure that they are harvesting the highest quality oysters from clean, approved waters. Their oysters have an outstanding clean, creamy flavor because they receive the best care to sustain their distinctive flavor, texture, and safety. The unique waters that Chesapeake has created have a very specific mineral and saline content and yield an oyster unmatched by any other oyster in the
Chesapeake waters. Chesapeake Oysters will be on hand to teach the public about their new green/sustainable industry and will be letting the public try their hand at shucking the oysters.

In addition to oysters, the barbecue train that everyone loves, Ole Smokey, will be at the market with barbecue ribs, brisket and pulled pork that makes you ask for more!

There will be face painting for the kids, and they can make their own fresh apple cider with our antique cider press. Music will be provided by White Loafer, led by Mark Stevens a three time Grammy nominated musician and composer. White Loafer Music is a new collaboration with a variety of world-class artists.

This event is open to the public and the face painting, apple cider pressing and music are free.

There is a charge for oysters and barbecue. A portion of the proceed will go Manna Food Center.
