Yoga and Fitness in Germantown

Learn about Fitness and Yoga in Germantown. New space added to an old one now offering yoga. First class this Wednesday morning, 10 a.m.

The Follow  Your Heart Yoga Center is closing its doors this Friday, after a great run providing yoga to the community. The owner is moving on for a variety of reasons and has done as much as she can to  make sure her students find new homes in studios in the area.

I am excited to join CoMMotion on Wisteria as a yoga teacher. The studio known for Zumba, Fitness and Pilates is now offering yoga with a few of us teaching who used to be at Follow Your Heart.

CoMMotion decided to add yoga to its menu once learning Follow Your Heart was closing and, CoMMotion is adding a second space to its already existing location on the same road, that opens this Wednesday.

There will be Beginner, Intermediate and mixed level classes. Bonnie Slawson, the owner, bubbles over with energy in a good way and, I am happy to say, has good business sense, good boundaries and many offers on the plate to encourage new students and keep the loyal one's coming.

So I will be brief but what do you need to do yoga? Only an open mind and willing heart...the rest will follow....you don't need to be strong or flexible. When I first started yoga when I attempted to touch my toes I barely found my knees. It comes with time and practice. Be ready to work, laugh and feel good and yes, Relax. The final pose is the hardest for many because all you do is lay on your back and breathe. For those Type A achievers, that is tough. But so worth it.

So check out the website and check out the studio. I am excited to be part of the team and hope to venture into a Zumba class myself though I don't shake, rattle and roll too well. I do like to have fun. And CoMMotion is all about fun and feeling good: http://commotion.me/schedule.htm
