Bethesda Green Gala Set For Wednesday

Register online by 2p.m. Monday or buy your tickets at the door.

The Gala is almost here, and if you haven’t yet registered to attend, the deadline has been extended until 2p.m. Monday. Tickets will also be available at the door.

The gala is set for 6-10p.m. Wednesday at At the event, the 2011 Bethesda Magazine Green Award winners will be announced. These “green champions” have been nominated by the community as residents making a difference when it comes to environmental sustainability.

Last year’s winners included MOM’s Organic Market, the Little Falls Watershed Alliance, Marriott International, Inc., The Universities at Shady Grove, the Town of Chevy Chase, Rabbi Fred Dobb of Adat Shalom Reconstructionist Congregation, and Noah Katz, a Bethesda student.

The gala will also boast a local, seasonal menu, an auction, an open bar with local beer and wine, live music and more.

Register online via Bethesda Green's website. Tickets are $100 each and proceeds will benefit Bethesda Green's work to "educate, incubate and initiate" programs that support sustainability in the community.
