Donations Needed For Christmas Breakfast Charity Event

Yearly Christmas breakfast for homeless and low-income residents has seen an uptick in guests this year.

An annual Christmas breakfast event for homeless and low-income residents is expanding this year, and the Original Pancake House is looking for donations of outerwear to offer its guests.

The breakfast has become a Christmas tradition for the community's needy at the Bethesda and Falls Church Original Pancake House locations. Each year, the restaurant coordinates with social services agencies to put on the event, and nearly 100 volunteers help out with cooking, serving and cleaning up.

About 300 guests attended last year, and this year that number has more than doubled to 700, according to Original Pancake House reps.

More than enough volunteers will be on hand to help, but donations of coats, hats, gloves, hoodies and sweaters for kids and adults are needed.

Donations can be dropped off at the Bethesda or Falls Church Original Pancake House locations anytime through Dec. 24.

Wonderful!! Wish more businesses, individuals and community leaders would extend themselves simply by coordinating an event or drop-off location for all to participate and lend a helping hand!! Thanks PATCH--for being the messenger!!

Love the idea of using the green basics to clean. They are so much safer than the alternatives toRead More clean up. Thank you! E. M. Peter The Healthy Child Project LDAA
