The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for much of the Washington, D.C. Metro region—including Montgomery County—for Friday afternoon through late Friday evening.

Thunderstorms are likely to begin midday Friday and continue into the evening, according to NWS. The storms could bring more than two inches of rain in less than an hour. The storms could potentially track in the same area and bring flash flooding, according to the alert.
