Summer Concert In Veteran's Park

Where/When: at the corner of Woodmont and Norfolk avenues, Thursday, May 17, 6 - 8 p.m.

Why Go: Check out jazz music from Adrian Duke as a part of the Bethesda Urban Partnership's free outdoor summer concert series in Veteran's Park. The concerts are happening each Thursday evening during May and June.

Where/When: Thursday through Saturday at restaurants and retailers across Bethesda Row

Why Go: More than 40 fashion events, a film screening and a cameo by the Bravo Network's Andy Cohen are on the agenda during The Front Row. The annual fashion event kicks off Thursday evening with a free screening of God Save My Shoes, continues Friday with a fashion show and special appearance by Bravo’s Andy Cohen, and wraps up Saturday with a Chic Child on the Row event on Bethesda Lane.

Price: Free.

Where/When: 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Friday at the corner of Woodmont and Bethesda Avenues

Why Go: Ditch the car during Bike to Work Day and hob knob with fellow bike commuters at the Bethesda pit stop, one of 58 stops throughout the Washington region. Enjoy refreshments, entertainment, giveaways, and a raffle for prizes including a new bike from Griffin Cycle, and winners of the ninth annual Bicycle Commuter Spirit Awards will be honored.

Where/When: 2 p.m. Saturday at the 4748 Western Avenue, Bethesda

Why Go: Check out an artist presentation for a photography exhibit highlighting Buddhist heritage in 17 countries and view a screening of the "The Second Buddha.” Presented in conjunction with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and the Embassy of India.

Price: Free.

The Grateful Shred V

Where/When: 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Clara Barton Community Center, 7425 MacArthur Boulevard in Cabin John

Why Go: Get rid of your unwanted documents now that tax time is over during this fifth annual event at the Clara Barton Community Center. All-Shred will be on hand with a mobile shredding truck to securely dispose of your papers.

Price: $5 per box donation requested.

Where/When: 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at , 5500 River Road, Bethesda

Why Go: Enjoy activities and entertainment for all ages, including a live bluegrass concert, a moon bounce, farm animals, an art show, free food, a car show, kids' games and arts and crafts. The festival will be held rain or shine.
