Welcome back to our weekly “Get Out” weekend planner, and happy Fourth of July weekend! There’s plenty to do to keep you busy for all three days of the long weekend. We’re not just talking fireworks, but there will be plenty of those to check out too.

Where/When: 8a.m. July 4 starting at the Potomac Library, 10101 Glenolden Drive in Potomac

Why Go: Just up River Road in Potomac, this run has become a community July 4 tradition to benefit Autism Speaks. If you’re not in town, you can also “Run Anywhere” to raise funds for autism.

3. FREE SUMMER CONCERT

Where/When: 6-8p.m. June 30 at Veteran’s Park, Woodmont and Norfolk Ave. in Bethesda

Why Go: Bethesda Urban Partnership’s free summer concert series continues this Thursday with the sounds of LaRue Boogaloo soul and jazz band.

Where/When: 11a.m. – 5:30p.m., June 30 – July 4 and July 7-11 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. (Special events planned for evenings)

Why Go: This year’s themes are the culture of Colombia, rhythm and blues music and the Peace Corps and features family-friendly activities and performances.

Where/When: 8-10p.m. Saturdays at the in downtown Bethesda

Why Go:  If you haven’t checked out the comedy show at the Hyatt, why not stop by this weekend? Every Saturday night, local comics tell jokes and a $25 cash prize is offered to an audience member who wins the joke contest.
