Labor Day: What You Need To Know

A few things to know about county services, transportation and parking this holiday.

Happy Labor Day, Bethesda! Here’s a few things you need to know about county services, transportation and parking today, according to Montgomery County:

  • County offices and libraries are closed today.
  • County liquor stores are open from 11a.m. to 7p.m., with the exception of Diamond Square, which is closed.
  • Metrobus, Metrorail and Ride On are operating on Sunday schedules today.
  • There will be no refuse or recycling pickup today and all collections this week will shift back one day.
  • The transfer station is closed.
  • State offices, courts, and Montgomery County Public Schools administrative offices are closed.
  • Parking at county lots and garages is free, along with meter parking.
  • Looking for something fun to do to mark the holiday? The Town of Kensington’s 44th annual Labor Day parade and festival kicks off at 10a.m.
