Lululemon Closing Statements Could Come Today

Prosecution set to call final witness.

Closing statements in the Lululemon homicide trial could begin as early as today.

The prosecution is set to call their final witness to the stand -- medical examiner Mary Ripple -- Wednesday morning. It's unclear whether the defense will call more witnesses to the stand.

The high-profile case has centered around whether Brittany Norwood pre-meditated an attack against her co-worker Jayna Murray, found dead at the downtown Bethesda shop March 11. Norwood's defense doesn't contest she killed Murray; rather, they argue she and killed Murray in a confrontation without pre-meditation.

Prosecutors have said Norwood used up to eight instruments in the attack against Murray -- including a knife, a rope, a merchandise peg, a mannequin peg, a screwdriver and a hammer. Murray sustained 322 distinct injuries, including 107 defensive wounds, prosecutors said.

The majority, they said, occurred while she was still alive.

Ripple is expected to testify in regards to autopsy findings. In his opening arguments last week, Montgomery County State's Attorney John McCarthy told the jury Ripple would testify that Murray's 107 defensive wounds were the most she had ever seen.
