Lululemon To Open Doors On Anniversary Of Homicide

Open house planned for Sunday, March 11, at the Bethesda store that was the scene of a brutal murder.

Downtown Bethesda's Lululemon store is planning an open house this Sunday, March 11 -- a date that marks a year since the brutal March 11, 2011 homicide that left store employee Jayna Murray dead.

Murray's co-worker Brittany Norwood and was to life in prison without the possibility for parole.

Murray, a vibrant graduate student, was stabbed and bludgeoned more than 331 times inside the store. Norwood, who was found bound near Murray's body, told police the two women had been attacked by masked men -- a story that left the community in terror.

But after forensic evidence at the scene didn't match Norwood's tale,

with the word "Love" -- a tribute to Murray -- etched in stained glass in a front window.

Sunday, Lululemon will open its doors from 10 - 11 a.m. for an open house to honor Murray's memory, according to the store's Facebook page.

"To remember our friend and coworker, Jayna Murray, we will open our doors early to share love, laughter and her memory with our community," the post read. "Please join us at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 11th for light refreshments at the Bethesda store. We look forward to coming together."

Murray's family also reported via the Facebook page they will visit the store Sunday.
