MacArthur Boulevard Bike Path Construction To Prompt Lane Closures

A 2.61-mile bike path is planned between the Capital Beltway and Oberlin Avenue.

The Montgomery County Department of Transportation is set to begin construction on a 2.61-mile bike path along MacArthur Boulevard between the Capital Beltway and Oberlin Avenue.

The work on the eight-foot-wide, shared use path is expected to launch in mid-April and will last about a year. Drivers can expect lane closures for short periods of time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. 

Work is set for weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The work will also include roadway resurfacing, and drainage and landscaping upgrades and underpass lighting. More information about the project is available online.
