Report: Metro Suicide Prevented Friday in Bethesda

A woman went on the tracks at the Bethesda Metro station, the Washington Examiner reported.

A train operator was able to stop in time before hitting a woman on the tracks at the Bethesda Metro station Friday, according to the Washington Examiner.

The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. during the Friday afternoon rush hour, The Examiner reported. The woman refused to move after the train stopped, at one point lying down on the tracks, according to the report.

It took officials about 15 minutes to remove the woman from the tracks. She was committed involuntarily at a local hospital.
