UPDATE: Victims in Fatal Motorcycle Crash Identified

A Kensington resident and a Hyattsville resident were killed this morning near the Capital Beltway in Bethesda.

Update, 8:18p.m.: Maryland State Police have identified the victims in Wednesday morning's fatal motorcycle crash. They are Christopher Kieran Walker, 26, of Kensington, and Kristen Renee Bell Wolcott, 25, of Hyattsville.

The two were riding a Ducati motorcycle when they lost control and hit a guardrail at the bottom of the River Road offramp at the Capital Beltway's Inner Loop. Both were ejected from the motorcycle.

Update, 7:17 a.m.: ABC7 is reporting the ramp reopened at 6:48 a.m.

Original post, 6:32 a.m.: A motorcycle crash on the Capital Beltway's River Road offramp killed two early Wednesday morning, according to Maryland State Police and a report by ABC7.

The accident happened as two people, a man and a woman, were using the ramp to exit the inner loop of the Beltway. The motorcycle lost control and hit a guardrail around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, ABC7 reported.

The ramp was closed to traffic and remained closed around 6 a.m., but was expected to re-open shortly, Maryland State Police said.

ABC7 reported that two helmets were found at the scene, and there appear to be no witnesses. Alcohol didn't appear to be a factor in the crash, police said.

Police were not identifying the victims as they worked to notify their families. Police said the names of the victims should be released within the hour.
