It's now a bit easier to travel between Bethesda and Chevy Chase while leaving your car at home.
The Chevy Chase Land Co., which operates retail and office property in the Chevy Chase Lake area, has begun operating a free shuttle between the Bethesda Metro station and Chevy Chase Lake, the Washington Post reports.
The shuttle bus launched as a commuting option for retail and office tenants in Chevy Chase Lake, located near Connecticut Avenue and Chevy Chase Lake Drive, but was opened to the community in early November, the Post reported.
Now, about 75 people hop the bus each day, and about 30 of them are from the community, reported the Post, citing a Chevy Chase Land spokeswoman.
The land company is exploring whether to keep the service permanently. It operates about every 40 minutes Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., and a full schedule is available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
