Obama Visits Wounded Warriors At Walter Reed Bethesda

President Barack Obama spent more than two hours visiting with wounded warriors at Bethesda’s Tuesday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, the president and First Lady Michelle Obama marked a moment of silence on the south lawn of the White House and attended a Sept. 11 Observance Ceremony at the Pentagon Memorial.

Obama was set to arrive in Bethesda at 1:55 p.m, visit Walter Reed at 2:15 p.m., and departed Bethesda en route back to the White House at 4:40 p.m., according to an online schedule.

While at Walter Reed, Obama visited with 36 military personnel including 28 soldiers and eight Marines, tweeted CBS News White House Correspondent Mark Knoller.

He awarded two Purple Hearts, according to the tweet.
