Pepco Reporting Outages in Bethesda, Chevy Chase

Nearly 2,000 in the dark after Sunday afternoon's severe thunderstorm.

Update (Sunday, Aug. 21, 7:50 p.m.): The number of customers without power in Chevy Chase has fallen to 1,072 (from 1,684 earlier today), according to the Pepco StormCenter map.

Fewer than 50 customers in Bethesda, Potomac and Glen Echo are still without power, according to Pepco.

Original post (Sunday, Aug. 21, 4 p.m.): More than 1,600 customers in Chevy Chase have been left without power following Sunday afternoon’s severe thunderstorm, according to the Pepco StormCenter map.  

In the 20815 Zip code, 1,684 customers are affected. An additional 150 Pepco customers are without power in southwestern Bethesda, Glen Echo and Cabin John, according to Pepco.

While the majority of customers in the dark are in Chevy Chase, Pepco was reporting scattered outages throughout the rest of western Montgomery County on its website, including less than five in Potomac and less than five in North Potomac.
