The fast-casual Mediterranean chain recently opened a new location in the Westlake Crossing shopping center.

There's been a lot of buzz surrounding the opening of Roti Mediterranean Grill in the Westlake Crossing Shopping Center. Diners were offered a sneak peek and free food of the highly-anticipated new eatery before it opened its doors March 9.

Patch recently stopped by to snap some pics and check out the chain's new digs at 10321 Westlake Drive. Similar to Bethesda Row's Cava or Chipotle, diners walk up to a counter to order, where they can customize their meal as they watch it being prepared.

Diners start by choosing a sandwich, rice plate or salad, and then add a choice of meat, falafel or veggies and top it off with sides and sauces like tahini or red pepper aioli.

Roti also serves up kabob plates, a Mediterranean chopped chicken salad and a "Sultan" sandwich with chicken, hummus, veggies and spicy sauce on a pita. Diners can take their food to go or eat in -- there's lots of indoor seating and a patio with Roti's signature red umbrellas for outdoor dining.

Have you tried Roti? What did you think of the food? How do you think the Mediterranean fare will fare in Westlake Crossing? Tell us in the comments.
