UPDATE: "Blonde Bandit" Arrested Following Bethesda Traffic Crash

Stephanie Schwab, 26, wanted for crimes in Baltimore County and Fairfax.

Update, 3:30p.m.: The Washington Post reports that Fairfax Police followed a car suspected to be the get-away vehicle in the McLean bank robbery into Montgomery County along I-495 Wednesday afternoon. 

When the vehicle exited the Beltway at Old Georgetown Road, it crashed, and the driver got out and ran from police, the Post reported.

Schwab was arrested around 1 p.m., the Post reported.

Update, 3p.m.: NBC Washington reported that Fairfax County police arrested the woman known as the "blonde bandit" following an Old Georgetown Road traffic crash.

Stephanie Schwab, 26, wanted for bank robberies and carjackings in Fairfax County, Virginia and was arrested by Fairfax police following the crash. NBC Washington reported they had been tailing her car following a report of an attempted BB&T bank robbery on Old Dominion Drive in McLean.

Original post: Rescuers responded to a crash in the southbound lanes of Old Georgetown Road near the Capital Beltway Wednesday afternoon.

WTOP reported the crash blocked the ramp to the Beltway's outer loop near Old Georgetown Road.
