PHOTOS: Getting to the Course

Spectators drove, biked, bused, walked, shuttled, and even scootered to the U.S. Open this week.

With no official on-site parking at for U.S. Open spectators, transportation was one of the event's biggest challenges. While the United States Golf Association's transportation plan was largely based on shuttling spectators in from off-site parking lots in Gaithersburg and Northern Virginia, not everyone who attended the event took the parking shuttles.

Some spectators traveled to the U.S. Open on foot, by bike, on the bus, aboard a Metro shuttle, via taxi, or even on a scooter. Meanwhile, plenty of others chose to park in the yards of homeowners surrounding the club—for a price. Check out our photos of the scene around as spectators arrived to watch the Open's final round Sunday.
