Thefts from vehicles, residential burglaries reported in Bethesda.

Montgomery County police recently released a summary of crimes in the second district from Jan. 16 - Jan. 24. Following is a summary of recent crimes in Bethesda.

Jan. 24

  • Property was stolen from outside a home in the 8800 block of Burdette Road.

  • Items were stolen from a car in the 4900 block of St. Elmo Avenue around 2:20 a.m. A 28-year-old male from Gaithersburg was arrested.

Jan. 31

  • A home was burglarized in the 4900 block of Montgomery Lane. There was unforced entry into the home and nothing was stolen.
  • Items were stolen from a vehicle in the 5300 block of King Charles Way around 12:10 a.m. There was forced entry into the vehicle.

  • There were 10 thefts from vehicles in Bethesda neighborhoods south of River Road reported during the overnight hours on multiple nights. The cars targeted were in the 6400 block of Goldleaf Drive, the 5900 block of Ramsgate Road, the 5400 block of Brookeway Drive, the 5000 block of Smallwood Drive, the 5000 block of Greenway Drive, the 7000 block of Orkney Parkway, the 7100 block of Laverlock Lane, the 7100 block of Crail Drive and the 4700 block of Bradley Boulevard. The vehicles were searched and cash and GPS units were stolen. All but one of the vehicles were left unlocked.
