Report: Mice Problem Closes Cookies by Design

A WUSA9 reporter found mouse droppings inside the bakery after it opened again following a re-inspection.

a popular Bethesda bakery franchise that offers custom gifts and gourmet cookies, was recently closed by Montgomery County health inspectors because they discovered evidence of mice, WUSA9 reports.

Inspectors, who were responding to a complaint, reported seeing a live mouse, according to the report.

The store opened again following a temporary closure and a re-inspection, but a WUSA9 reporter who visited the store on camera discovered mouse droppings "behind the cookie pans, near the refrigerators and in the center of the store."
