Save the Date: ImagiFest 2012

Bethesda's Imagination Stage will open its doors to kids and families.

Parents, save the date: ImagiFest 2012 is set for Sept. 8.

The downtown Bethesda professional children’s theater will open its doors during the free event, dubbed “Suess on the Loose.” Kids and their families will be lead on an interactive journey through the building, featuring scenic installations of productions in the theater’s 2012-2013 season. The catch? The Cat in the Hat has tricked all the characters into thinking they’re in a Dr. Suess tale, and kids will be tasked with saving the stories.

ImagiFest will also feature a dance party, a DIY chalk graffiti wall, show previews, backstage access and sample classes in theater, music and dance. Families can get a sneak peek of performances of Mouse on the Move, an interactive play for children ages 1-5, and P.Nokio: A Hip-Hop Musical, a modern take on the Pinocchio story.
