Seats Available on the Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board

Residents, business community and nonprofit representatives needed.

If you’re looking for a way to lend your input on community issues, consider applying for a seat on the Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board.

Members of the board advise the director of the , the County Council and County Executive on issues facing local residents in Bethesda, Cabin John, Chevy Chase, Friendship Heights, Garrett Park, Glen Echo, North Bethesda, Potomac and Rockville. Topics the board discusses run the gamut from transportation and public safety to the environment.

County Executive Isiah Leggett is soliciting applications for nine vacancies on the board. Spots are available for five residents, three business representatives, and one representative of a locally-serving nonprofit.

Board members serve three-year terms, and the board meets monthly at 7 p.m. at the Bethesda Chevy-Chase Regional Services Center. The meetings are usually held the third Monday of the month. There’s no compensation, but members are eligible to be reimbursed for transportation to and from meetings and for child care during meetings.
