This Weekend: What To Know If You're Taking Metro

More delays on the Red Line.

Planning on hopping the Red Line this weekend? Here’s a few things you should know, according to WMATA:

  • Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday through closing Sunday, major track work is planned on the Red Line between Dupont Circle and Van Ness. Crews will be continuing to conduct track circuit replacement recommended by the National Transportation Safety Board.
  • The Woodley Park and Cleveland Park stations will be closed, and Metro will provide shuttle buses between Dupont and Van Ness.
  • Red Line trains will continue to run outside of the work zone. Every other train from Dupont Circle will turn back at Silver Spring.
  • Riders traveling through the work zone should tack on an additional 25 minutes of travel time. All other Red Line riders should allow an extra 10 minutes of travel time.
  • Work is also planned on the Blue, Orange, Green and Yellow Lines. Check Metro’s press release for more information.
