This Weekend: What to Know if You're Taking Metro

Expect more delays on the Red Line.

Trains are back in service on the Red Line this weekend, but that doesn't mean there won't be typical weekend delays. If you’re planning on hopping the Red Line this weekend, here’s what you should know, according to WMATA:

  • From 10p.m. Friday through closing Sunday, trains will be single-tracking between Grosvenor and Twinbrook stations for platform repairs.
  • On the other side of the Red Line, trains will be single-tracking between Takoma and Forest Glen.
  • Between 9a.m. and 9p.m. Saturday and Sunday, trains will run about every 12 minutes between Grosvenor and Fort Totten. At all other stations and outside of those times, trains will be running about every 24 minutes.
  • All Red Line riders should tack on about 20 minutes to their anticipated travel time.
