Today At The U.S. Open: June 15

If you're heading to Congressional today, here's a few things to know.

It’s the third and final day of practice rounds today at the U.S. Open at Gates will be open from 6a.m. to 7p.m. Players who play a full round will usually do so from about 7a.m. to 2:52p.m., according to the U.S. Open Spectator's Guide, but its typical for players to be on the golf course or in the practice areas until 7p.m.

Remember, there is no official on-site parking at Congressional. It will be mostly sunny today with a high of 81 degrees, according to the Weather Channel, but there may be a few showers Thursday and Friday.

Traffic is already starting to build around Congressional, but it will likely begin to peak on Thursday during the first day of the Championship rounds. If you’re not heading to the tournament, avoid the following routes if possible:

  • River Road from the Capital Beltway to Falls Road
  • Falls Road from I-270 to Oaklyn Drive
  • Seven Locks Road from River Road to Democracy Boulevard
  • Persimmon Tree Road
  • Bradley Boulevard
  • Persimmon Tree Lane
  • Oaklyn Drive
