Community Corner

American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Rockville

Members of the community are invited to help the American Cancer Society celebrate a world with less cancer and more birthdays on Saturday, June 1 by participating in the annual Relay For Life of Rockville at Tilden Middle School.

Relay For Life is the signature community fundraising walk of the American Cancer Society, to fund research for all types of cancer, patient services, support programs and advocacy. It is a family-friendly, overnight, team event that celebrates the lives of cancer survivors and caregivers, remembers those who have been lost to cancer and enables everyone, young and old, to fight back against the disease.

Our event in Rockville will begin with a survivor & caregiver reception, leading into the opening ceremony at 1:00 PM. From there, we will have teams made up of families, friends, business and organizations camping out around the football stadium & taking turns representing their team while walking around the track. We will be walking around the clock until our closing/fight back ceremony at 1:00 AM.
