LOCAL STUDENT NEWSPAPER TO HOST PANEL OF PROMINENT JOURNALISTS
Discussion Will Focus on Media’s Role in Recent Election
Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School’s student newspaper, The Tattler, will hold a panel discussion on the media’s role in the 2012 presidential election on November 29 at 7:00 PM in the B-CC cafeteria.
The discussion, titled “Polls, PACs and Pundits: How the Media Informed, Influenced, and Failed us During Election 2012,” is a fundraiser and “thought-raiser” for B-CC’s journalism program.
Ron Charles of The Washington Post will moderate the panel, which will be made up of the Post’s Fred Hiatt, Richard W. Stevenson of The New York Times, Janet Hook of The Wall Street Journal, Henry Schuster of 60 Minutes, and U.S. Congressman Chris Van Hollen of Maryland’s 8th District.
There will be a reception for donors of $50 or more beginning at 6:00 PM in the B-CC High School cafeteria, located at 4301 East-West Highway, Bethesda MD. The discussion will begin at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $5 for high school students and children and $10 for the general public. The Tattler welcomes larger donations.
