First Annual Children's Day Triathlon

This children's triathlon serves to encourage a physically healthier
lifestyle for children, while raising money to support charities that
also benefit children. These include the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington
and the charities of the National Institutes of Health.

---

The event fittingly takes place on
National Children's Day, Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the YMCA of
Bethesda-Chevy Chase. Children ages 8-12 are encouraged to participate.

The triathlon features a 50 meter swim in a heated, outdoor pool at the
YMCA facility, a challenging 1.65 mile bike ride through the
surrounding neighborhood, followed by a 1/2 mile run around the YMCA’s
outdoor track.

We want our children of today to be tough for those who need the support!

We are excited to introduce a fundraising commitment for entrants,
which will provide them with the ability to be actively involved in
supporting the interests of the event’s charities. We hope that by
raising money to help fellow children, who may be less privileged or
sick, will instill crucial values into our community’s children.
Further, prizes will be given to those that raise the most money.
