Friendship Heights Centennial program

The year 2014 is the Friendship
Heights Village Centennial. In a program titled “Birth of a Village” historian
William Offutt will speak on the very early history of Friendship Heights (mid-1850s
to 1914) and Mayor Melanie Rose White will discuss the period from 1914 to the
mid-1950s. Descendents of one of the original settler families will attend as
well as residents who lived in the Village a half century ago. The Village
Center is searching for former Village residents who remember Friendship
Heights when it was a community of 100 houses and who might want to participate
by sharing stories, photos or artifacts. Please contact Jennie Fogarty at 301-656-2797 if you would like more information.
