Linda Norgove Foundation 5k Run/Walk

Get some exercise—and do some good. Join DAI and friends on October
5 at 9:00 am on a 5k Run/Walk in Bethesda to benefit the people of Afghanistan
through the Linda Norgrove Foundation.

The Linda Norgrove Foundation was established in October 2010 in
memory of Linda Norgrove, a DAI employee devoted to working toward the
stability of Afghanistan. Her parents, John and Lorna Norgrove, set up the foundation
to continue her work.

The foundation is funding a project to build two drinking water
storage tanks for 3,000 villagers in two communities in the Balkh province. The
project is one element of a program of UK charity HealthProm, that is aimed at
reducing maternal and child deaths. Children under 5 are particularly
vulnerable to infection from waterborne diseases.

Proceeds from the Bethesda 5k will go to the project.

The race will begin and end at the entrance to Rock Creek Trail,
off of Cedar Lane and Beach Drive in Bethesda, MD: http://goo.gl/maps/Is2lf
