The Opposite of Worry: The Playful Parenting Approach to Raising Confident and Secure Children

It's never too late to help a child unlock from anxiety and fear and learn to participate joyfully in all the ups and downs of life. PEP (the Parent Encouragement Program) proudly presents author and child psychologist Lawrence J. Cohen, PhD., who will be speaking on Friday morning, November 8, about playful parenting techniques that can help ease anxieties and build the confidence and coping skills of children age 2 to 9.

Dr. Cohen is the author of the award-winning book Playful Parenting and a licensed psychologist specializing in children's play, play therapy, and parenting. In addition to his private therapy practice, he is a speaker and consultant to public and independent schools and a teacher of parenting classes and classes for daycare teachers. In his new book, The Opposite of Worry, he shows how the playful perspective opens up new paths to lead children from anxiety and fear to connection, trust, and joy.

Tickets cost $35 per person; advance registration required -- no walk-ins.  For ticket sales, visit PEPparent.org or call 301.929.8824.
