WWII Canteen Dance with the Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra (Benefits USO)

Grab your dancing shoes and join us at Glen Echo's Spanish Ballroom on Saturday November 9th as the fabulous Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra helps us step back in time as we recreate the sights and sounds of a time gone by.

The Eric Felten Jazz Orchestra is a classic 14-piece Big Band that really knows how to swing!! They feature the original big band arrangements of Count Basie, Billy May, and Nelson Riddle. Don't take our word for it -- the Washington Post says that the EFJO "sets a standard not easily matched: in its performance of music from the great bands of the Big Band era -- Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Harry James, Woody Herman, Lionel Hampton and more. It's no wonder that PBS selected the EFJO to provide the soundtrack for their show The Big Band Sound of WWII.

Beginner lesson: 8 - 9 pm
Dancing: 9 pm - Midnight
$18/person; proceeds to USO

Vintage attire (military or civilian) highly encouraged!!
See http://www.youtube.com/user/feltenjazz for selections from the band!
