Cancer Prevention Study-3 Tops Goal at MedStar Montgomery

238 participants enrolled in CPS-3 in early November at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center in partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS).  CPS-3 (Cancer Prevention Study-3) is a national, once-in-a-generation study that will help ACS researchers better understand the genetics, lifestyle, environmental factors that cause cancer and, ultimately, find cures and save lives!  The goal is to follow 300,000 volunteer participants who have never had cancer for 20 to 30 years.  ACS thanks MedStar Montgomery Medical Center for hosting the enrollment and our community champions for volunteering and promoting CPS-3.  This was a team effort, with our five ACS Relay For Life events in Montgomery County (Damascus, Clarksburg, Poolesville, Rockville & Olney), plus our various hospital, community and corporate partners who ran with the message, contributing to the overall success.   To learn about CPS-3, see  www.cancer.org/CPS3
