One meat:

When "fast-casual" chocolate eatery Max Brenner opens next week in Bethesda, chocolate lovers will have a chance to experience chocolate in a whole new way, Bethesda-Chevy Chase Patch reported.

Max Brenner is not just any ordinary chocolate shop. Its chocolate drinks and menu items are designed not to be gobbled, but to be savored as a "chocolate experience." Read more on Bethesda-Chevy Chase Patch, and watch a video of the restaurant's executive chef demonstrating how to use the restaurant's special "kangaroo cup" to enjoy coffee with chocolate swirls.

Three sides:

Salad chain Sweetgreen's newest location is in Silver Spring, at 8517 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring Patch reported. Its July 15 opening was "pay what you want" day, and donations benefited FRESH FARM markets, a Sweetgreen spokesperson told Silver Spring Patch.

Most of us can only imagine what it would be like to dine at the White House, but for Chevy Chase resident Emma Scielzo, 10, no imagination is needed.

Her recipe for chicken masala wraps stood out so well among the many entries in the White House's Healthy Lunchtime Challenge that she and her mom were invited to lunch at the White House with First Lady Michelle Obama. Read more about the luncheon on Bethesda-Chevy Chase Patch.

Dessert:

Free ice cream alert: Every Tuesday this summer, Bethesda's California Tortilla (4871 Cordell Ave.) is giving out free ice cream treats to anyone who buys an entree and says the secret password—"yum"—to the cashier. Last week, the free treat was a chocolate vanilla crunch ice cream bar.
